Everyone has holiday traditions that make their holidays unforgettable. Whether it’s spending Christmas or celebrating Día de las Velitas with family and friends, our personal experiences make each holiday unique.

This holiday season, The Maajic Makers want to connect with you by sharing their favorite personal holiday experiences. Before you scroll down, grab your favorite beverage and get comfy. We have 5 interesting holiday stories below to make you smile.

Story By: ANDREA

My favorite holiday date is “Day of the little candles”. It’s such a Maajical time for my family and I! I love the tradition of sharing the light and multiplying it that we celebrate in Colombia. We really enjoy lighting up the little candles as we welcome the Christmas season. The night is full of candles and lights everywhere; on the balconies, windows, porches, squares, sidewalks, and even in the streets.

When I was little, I got the best holiday gift ever: a shave ice machine! I thought this particular gift one was so cool!

If I was to write a book about my holiday experiences, I would give it the title ‘Multiplying Love and Light’ because, for me, holidays are all about spending time with people I love and lighting candles.

Story By: LAURA

My dream holiday moment is one spent with my daughter lighting up candles, making wishes, and laughing. I love her with all of my heart!

My mother is my other special person, she knows exactly which gifts to surprise me with during the holidays. I love all her gifts and they mean a lot to me.

If I was an author I would write a book called ‘Maajical Santa’ because most of my holiday moments are always about sharing Maajic and giving or receiving gifts.

Story By: ALESSA

During my holidays, I love putting up and decorating the Christmas tree, and playing ‘Last Christmas’ by Wham! I also enjoy those moments of lighting a fire and candles to take my mind to the snow and other Maajical places.

The most memorable holiday gift that I have ever received was from my husband. He took my sister and I on a trip to our favorite place which we used to enjoy visiting when we were little girls. It came as a total surprise to my sister, this made her break down in tears of joy and that meant a lot to me to see how happy she was.

My ideal book of all my holiday experiences would be called ‘Memorable Stories’ because I believe the holidays are the time of year when the most memorable moments are created, be it with our family, friends, or partner.

Story By: DANI

My favorite holiday experience takes me way back to December 1st, 2017. All my maternal family members reunited after many years. Most of them live abroad so having a chance to spend time together was so special!

My sister together with her husband once took me on a trip to my dream vacation destination. It still remains my most memorable holiday gift because it brought back memories of our childhood. It is a place we loved to visit when my sister and I were kids.

I hope to write a book one day and give it the title ‘Best Time of Year’ because I believe holidays are a time of union, love, and happiness. During this time, people are full of energy, souls are refreshed and recharged with many good things. It is a moment of sharing with family, friends, and partners.

Story By: NATI

I always cherish the memories of how we used to spend holidays when I was a little kid. I had 8 cousins, we would get along so well and no wonder they enjoyed joining my family at our house during Christmas. We enjoyed making some typical Colombian sweets and sharing them with our friends. Every Christmas now reminds me of those beautiful memories and the wealth that I have always had, not of money or gifts, but of all the people who surround me even if some of them are no longer here.

I have always loved animals and my first pet came to me as a gift. It was a dog, her name was Perla, and I think that is my most memorable holiday gift so far!

If I was asked to write a book about my holiday experiences, I would call it ‘We Were Happy and We Knew It!’ I would get my cousins to help me tell the world about our precious Christmas moments together!

Thank you for taking the time to read our personal holiday experience stories! Which one was your favorite?

We hope you and your loved ones have a happy holiday season full of beautiful new memories.
