What is important in swimsuit shapes? This is what our public said

WE WANT TO KNOW YOU BETTER

Last weekend we brought together 50 women living in the Newport Beach, California, area to talk about swimwear; in particular, how swimsuits help make you confident and feel good about yourself. Maaji partnered with Lido House who hosted us at one of their decked-out poolside cabanas.

The event was an overwhelming success, with many thanks going to our Maaji attendees and the people of Lido House.

“Just wanted to say thank you so much for inviting me to the focus group this weekend. It was so much fun, and I LOVE the brand so much already!”

We held six focus groups over two days spending 90 minutes each session talking about swimsuits followed by individual try-on sessions. Our goal was to better understand what participants expect and want when choosing a suit and how it makes them feel good. Top on the list of “must-haves” was fit, overall quality, and the feel of the fabric or material.

We talked about the cut of the suit and the importance of the material being smooth and not cutting into the body. There needs to be a balance of how the suit hugs the body, not too tight but not too loose, and it needs to be flattering. There must be support while maintaining comfort, and at the same time, it must complement the shape of each individual’s body. This was a sample of the insightful feedback we received.

Following our group discussions, each participant chose a suit from our latest collections to try on and take home as a thank you for spending time with us. A couple of our Maaji Design Team members were there to help participants try on their suits and directly capture feedback to include in future design efforts.

It was so much fun to meet and hear from so many new people living the beach lifestyle.

A huge THANK YOU to the 50 women who chose to spend their time with us;  the insightful feedback provided was invaluable

Maaji will be conducting future focus groups, both in-person and virtual, so stay tuned. In the meantime, if you’d like to provide your feedback on what is most important to you when picking out a swimsuit, please send your comments to FitGuru@Maaji.co – we would love to hear what you have to say.

Lido House Newport Beach Review

Whether it was the valet staff who greeted you upon arrival or the many Lido House team members taking care of guests at the pool, there was always someone available to make your stay Maajical. In addition to the wonderful service, we found the poolside menu to have the perfect amount of flair and variety. At the same time, the overall surroundings and ambiance provided for an authentic beach getaway experience.

We couldn’t have asked for a better location or weather, a perfect poolside sunny 73 degrees each day. Following the focus groups, many Maaji attendees took the opportunity to lounge around the saltwater pool and put in some tanning time wearing their new Maaji bikinis. Those who attended the last sessions of the day made their way to the Top Side Lido House Roof Deck, the only rooftop bar in Newport Beach, the only way to enjoy a sunset.

If you’re looking to spend time in a coastal Southern California town, the Lido House in Newport Beach is your place. Check it out, and be sure to tell the Lido House their friends at Maaji say hi.
